Sherif joins us from Georgia-Pacific, where he was a senior operations research scientist working on supply chain optimization and production planning. Previously, in the US and Egypt, Sherif has developed a variety of solutions and tools for complex supply chain optimization for industrial shippers and transportation companies, and he has managed model development and special projects for large-scale manufacturing and infrastructure engineering. Sherif earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Clemson. He has taught classes in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management and Operations Research at Kennesaw State, Clemson, and the University of Cincinnati. From the American University in Cairo, Sherif earned an MS in Industrial Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He has co-authored articles and given conference presentations on approaches and techniques to improve business outcomes through optimization, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies. For professional development, Sherif has earned certifications and participated in training in Machine Learning with Python, Scrum Management, Project Management, and other subjects. In his spare time, Sherif enjoys pickleball and soccer, and spending time with his family.
