Gurobi Senior Data Science Strategist Jerry Yurchisin and Princeton Consultants Optimization Principal Irv Lustig\, PhD will review this usage and discuss the advantages and concerns revealed through analyzing queries and specific examples over time\, highlighting the benefits\, potential risks\, and lessons learned from using Generative AI for modeling optimization problems. \nJerry and Irv will discuss how these lessons are informing new GenAI tools designed to provide improved support\, modeling assistance\, and model explainability. \nRegister for the webinar. \nJerry Yurchisin\, with over a decade of experience in operations research\, data science\, and visualization\, specializes in enhancing decision-making with the right analytical approach. At Gurobi\, Jerry aims to promote the integration of mathematical optimization into the data science and AI communities as a critical component of decision intelligence. Before joining Gurobi\, Jerry worked in consulting supporting numerous projects by building and customizing mathematical optimization models and leveraging machine learning\, applied statistics\, and simulation—all to support decision-making through data-driven narratives. Jerry also has taught a wide variety of college-level mathematics and statistics courses and has a passion for education. \nIrv Lustig\, PhD leads Princeton Consultants’ development of custom optimization software. An internationally recognized leader in operations research and advanced analytics\, Irv joined Princeton Consultants from IBM Research\, where he cultivated state-of-the-art approaches for the next generation of optimization/business integration. Irv received Sc.B. and Sc.M. degrees in Applied Mathematics/Computer Science from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Stanford University\, where he studied under George Dantzig\, a founder of linear programming. Irv has authored more than 30 articles and scientific papers and has received the Beale-Orchard-Hays Prize for excellence in computational mathematical programming. Irv is a Certified Analytics Practitioner-Expert and INFORMS Fellow.
